Game report

Although Team USA entered to the game with a lot of power, 1st period was totally goalless. The big chance to score for Ryan Hartman on breakaway was denied by great Korpisalo´s save and little while later Barber hit the post with sharp shot.

The game keep on in similar way. Americans were more creative, in power plays they had unexpected ideas. However, Joonas Korpisalo, goalkeeper of Team Finland, had perfect evening.

Finnish wall fell down in 3rd period. In five minutes Team USA scored three times. Nicolas Kerdiles thanks to man-advantage on the ice had a lot of time in the crease to take the lead for Team USA. Another two goals added Matt Lane and Quentin Shore.

"It is unbelievable. Everybody did great job included coaches who prepared us to the game. I am very happy for shutout, the guys really help me," remarked Collin Olson, goalkeeper of Team USA.

Finns got pretty frustrated and Aleksandr Barkov´s penalty came from it. He got game misconduct for checking from behind. Then, powerplay goal scored Connor Carrick to give a final result to 4:0.

"We played a really good game during the first two periods. At the beginning of the third period the opponent scored a first goal and I do not know what happened. We had lots of penalties and we stopped playing," said Finnish captain Mikko Vaionen

Reactions

Jussi Tapola (Head Coach of Team Finland) It was a tough game. Two periods we played according to plan but we had too many penalties and we could not handle the pressure. I think, the result is fair.

Danton Cole (Head Coach of Team USA): I appreciate this win because Team Finland is very strong. We succeed thanks to responspible and pationate game. I am glad that Collin (Collin Olson, goalkeeper) shut out because he made great saves.
